The rents quoted on the website include V.A.T. at the current rate and are per PROPERTY, not per PERSON. Occasionally, due to an error it is necessary to amend the rents. Any changes will be notified at the time of booking or, if not known at that time, at the earliest opportunity. You will then have the option to cancel or transfer to a different property.
The initial payment for your holiday is £150 per property per week. Some properties carry a higher deposit.
If you are booking within 70 days of your holiday date then you must pay the full cost of your holiday. This includes the property rental and Personal Travel Protection premium.
Payment can be made on the internet by debit/credit card (enter details in the on-line secure booking form) or by cheque in the post to the Mackay's office.
Please pay by credit card if possible. You may also pay by sterling bank transfer but we regret that we cannot accept deduction of bank charges for this method of payment - £10.00 must be added for each bank transfer. Please contact us for details once you have made a booking.
PAYMENTS FROM OVERSEAS MUST REACH US 10 WEEKS BEFORE THE START OF THE HOLIDAY. WE REGRET THAT WE CANNOT ACCEPT CHEQUES DRAWN ON AN OVERSEAS BANK.
It normally takes 5 working days to process your booking and prepare your confirmation invoice. Occasionally it may take longer if we have difficulty contacting the property owner to confirm availability.
The balance payment is due 10 weeks before your holiday. No reminder will be sent. Please send the payment slip on your invoice with your balance payment if you have not made arrangements to pay the balance by credit card.
The property details state whether there are extra charges for electricity, gas, solid fuel, linen, etc. These charges are normally payable direct to the owner or keyholder. Where electricity is "extra on meter" the actual coinage required will be stated in the final property details which are sent to you on payment of your holiday balance. Some owners require a returnable deposit against breakage/damage, etc. This will be stated in the property details and is not part of the booking deposit. The owner is responsible for making any refunds due from the breakage/damage deposit shortly after your departure from the property.
When you have paid your balance of rent, we will send you the final instructions for your holiday property with keyholder arrangements routing, etc. We ask you to contact the keyholder or owner where appropriate, a few days before your holiday to let them know your approximate time of arrival and finalise any key collection arrangements
We regret that we cannot accept a change of holiday property once a booking has been confirmed. However it may be possible, at the Agency's discretion, to change the holiday dates. For this there is an administrative charge of £40.00 plus V.A.T. A change of dates is not possible within 8 weeks of the original holiday dates.
Exceptional circumstances outside our control occasionally arise which result in the cancellation of a booking, for instance the serious illness of the property owner, or storm damage at the property, etc. If we have to cancel your holiday, we shall try to offer you an alternative property at a similar price. If any alternative chosen by you is more expensive, you will normally be liable for any additional cost. If no suitable alternative is available, we will refund in full all monies paid by you.
